General description

The resistance bridge type AESA 7198 allows measuring solid or stranded conductors up to a cross-section of 500mm². Its sturdy and robust housing has been designed to work in the difficult environment of an industrial shop-floor.

It is equipped with a 11.5mm high, 26'000 points LCD display. During the measurement process, the display shows the measured value with its units, the sample temperature or the deviation in % to a given nominal value. The equipment selects the measuring range automatically. It can also be done manually. The 7198 is equipped with a keyboard with 24 keys to introduce the measurement parameters and to use the different bridge functions.

The displayed measurement values are automatically converted to 20°C or any other temperature for copper, aluminium and other metals.
A averaging concept allows rapidly improving the measurement stability by guarantying a high accuracy.

The sample clamping system is integrated in the bridge's housing. One of the clamps is movable, this allowing the sample under test to be tightened. A temperature probe is integrated in the 1000mm support rule. To make the transportation of the bridge easy, carrying handles have been placed at both housing ends.

Optionally, a software package allows driving the resistance bridge. The available RS232 output allows also connecting a printer to print the measurement results together with other information related to the sample under test.
