Battery-powered Megohmmeter for measuring the insulation resistance of electric cables.

The conversion is carried out automatically by setting the cable length.

A single switch turns the power on, charges the cable and then acts as range selector.

The actual measurement time depends solely on the polarization characteristics of the cable dielectric. When the switch is turned to discharge, a relay connects the cable to a low value resistance for 30 seconds.

When the 1000 m setting is selected, the instrument is used as a conventional megohmmeter.

The switch also has a battery test setting.

Measuring circuit has a high stability operational amplifier and low current consumption. Power supply provided by six 1.5 V torch batteries (IEC R20 (size D)) or 230V mains.
