This instrument has been designed to locate short-circuit (resistive) and open-circuit (capacitive) faults in pair and quad telephone cable as well as in electrical cable installations up to 10mm2 in section.

Advantages

  • Portable unit, can be used both on-site or in the workshop.
  • Distance to fault read-off on LCD display.
  • Reliable up to a fault resistance of 1MΩ
  • Compact design.
  • Easy to use.
  • High accuracy.

Works on the principle of comparing capacitance and resistance. The advantage of this method is that only the length of the cable has to be known and set in the instrument before starting fault location.
